This is NOT a 29" seat. It's actually ~27" when the cushion compresses. It may seem trivial, but I bought this to work at a standing desk so I could sit sometimes without having to lower the desk. The 2" difference is enough to make it uncomfortable to use at the desk. If you need the seat height to be 29" don't buy this. Get a wooden stool that actually seats you at 29". As for me, I attached the pad from this stool to an old 29" round-seat wooden stool, and that works just fine. I repurposed the base by putting a piece of round tempered smoky glass on the top to make it into a nightstand--it looks great that way (though I had to remove the two cross beams that hold the seat swivel. BTW, the stool goes together easily enough (20 screws w/ 2 washers on each), but the finish could be a bit smoother and there was a small bit of wobble. Also the anti-scuff buttons on the leg bottoms are tiny and cheap and will almost certainly come off with regular use. BL: not the stool I wanted, but made a great small table.These barstools are very nice!! They came well packaged with no damage. As others said in their reviews, they got much easier and quicker to assemble after the first one. Unfortunately the last one we went to put together came with no hardware and two seat cushions instead of the foot rest. No problems though as I immediately contacted Amazon. Another one was shipped and received extremely quickly and it was very easy to return the other one. I was shocked to see how large these stools were once assembled. I bought these particular stools because of some reviews stating they had big cushions for those of us with a larger derrière. They fit our rumps nicely and have a soft cushion too. We needed to add more seating for a large family gathering we were having and these were a big hit. We used and abused each one of these all weekend and they held up great so I think they will stand the test of time. My husband had some reserves about these in the beginning but once I showed him a photo of these exact stools in a fancy kitchen ad in a magazine, his mind changed quickly. We are very pleased with our purchase. And just a note, I shopped for barstools at many online retailers and in stores, and these we the best ones I found that were of good quality for a great price and comfortable all at the same time!Purchased 2 of these. Very nice stools. Saw a similar item that did not have the metal tacks around the cushion... Glad I chose these..... tacks really dress up the appearance. Box packaging was excellent.Assembly was approx 20min each but VERY simple and hardware is labeled & packaged well.Stools are wider than I expected. ...which adds to comfort..... a good 17-1/2" wide. I'm 240lbs and they feel very comfortable & sturdy & swivel smoothly.During assembly, loosely install all bolts first, then go back & tighten. Simple!!Stools have very nice finish, but do NOT have a redish hue as I had hoped, but look great nonetheless.If was to make one suggestion to the manufacturer. ..... it would be to make the legs 1" longer so the stools are 25" tall. ( I bought 24" size). The cushion compresses about 1" when you sit on it, and it "feels" slightly low as you sit at a kitchen counter height. If you're 5'10" or taller, you won't notice it, but shorter folks would appreciate another 1" in height to compensate for the seat compression. .... this is veryyyyyy minor. .... most won't even notice, but I'm a detail freak and notice everything. ... haha..Bottom line.... buy 'em... you'll be pleased.They match appearance in photos. They look great.Seat tops spin. Stools are sturdy and require assembly. I did have to trim an edge or two where leg notch aligns at stool top for look and to align assembly holes.Very uncomfortable but okay quality for price.i ordered 2 pcs. before and I loved it! decided to re ordered one more and when it arrived, there’s no hardwares and even the instructions werre missing. called the product support and send me the missing hardwares. disappointed again because when i finally assembled the stool, it’s not the same height and color as the first two that i got!I have purchased 6 of these stools for my bar. Wide bases, comfortable and good price. My issue is that one stool had a smooth surface (as opposed to a slight textured surface), and one stool is a full inch higher (30”) than the other 5 stools. My recommendation: buy all of your stools from one supply at the same time.Hey...I'm about as far from a "Handywoman" as you can get, but I really worked this out rather quickly (3/4 hour). I needed the extra bar stool for when my family came, and it worked out great! In addition, the price was very reasonable, and the stool is well crafted. Fits very well with my other stools at the kitchen bar.
