I love contemporary furnishings, and I am a very functional person. This stool is perfect. Much more comfortable than the wood pub-height bar stool (think standard home furniture weekly mailer bar stool) I was using previously as an office chair. I use a drafting table as a desk (taller than a standard office desk - this stool would be too high for a standard desk) which is not quite as high as our kitchen counters and this stool transitions between each location easily. Construction seems decent (if not, better than expected) and weighs more than anticipated, yet is easy to move from room to room as needed. I will likely be buying more of these to replace the stools we currently have in the kitchen.
